On the 1st of February 2019, the boys of class 1 presented a colourful and entertaining cultural programme showcasing the rich cultural heritage and legacy of our incredible country, India.
It was a delight to witness the little Columbans dressed in the bright costumes of different states. The extravaganza depicted the various traditions, handlooms, and occupations of eight different and colourful states of North-East, Punjab, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Goa. The students played their parts to perfection, greeting the parents and guests in regional languages and highlighting the traditional and ethnic aspects of the respective states.
There was a delectable display of cuisines from varied states in the exhibition rooms where the fabrics and handicrafts were also displayed beautifully.
Be it the Bhangra, the Goan Dance, the Garba dance, the Rajasthani folk dance or any of the traditional dances of the North Eastern states, the boys in their vibrant costumes matched their steps perfectly to the beats winning the hearts of one and all.
The show was indeed a perfect display of taking pride in the rich cultural heritage of our country and emphasizing Unity in Diversity.
