The Middle School organized an Art Competition-cum-Power Point Presentation on ‘the Founders of Religious Orders administering Schools in Delhi”, on the 28th August ’19 from 8 AM to 12 Noon. The event was conducted on the occasion of the 175th Death Anniversary of the Founder of the Christian Brothers: Brother Edmund Ignatius Rice.
More than 70 students from 08 Schools of Delhi namely, the Convent of Jesus & Mary, Fr Agnel, Mater Dei, Mt St Mary’s, Presentation Convent, Rosary Sr Sec School, St Xavier’s and St Columba’s School participated. Msgr.Fr.Susei Sebastian, Vicar General, Catholic Archdiocese of Delhi graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Bro Joe was the Guest of Honour at the event.
The Art competition was held from 8:00 am to 10:30 am followed by a power point presentation by the representative of each school on the vision of their respective founders.
There were three categories for the Art Competition namely classes 4-6, classes 7-9 and classes 10-12 and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were given in each of these categories. Ratango Ghosh Class X-B and Srijan Panja of class V-C of St Columba’s School won the 3rd prize in their respective category. The overall trophy was decided on the basis of total marks obtained by the school in drawing competition and power point presentation made by representative of participating school. The winners were adjudged by Rev Fr. Stanely, Sr. Mitchell, Ms. Vinita Colaso and Mr. Intekabh.
Mt. St.Mary’s School won the Winners’ Trophy while Mater Dei School bagged the Runners up Trophy.
The way the participants captured the essence of vision of the founders of their respective institutions- both through creative art pieces and through presentations, was very imaginative and an enriching experience.
Mr. McDonald and his team of boys kept the atmosphere lively through their beautiful music.
The event concluded with a stimulating and encouraging message by the Chief guest, Fr. Susai to all the students followed by the vote of thanks by Principal, Br. Mrianda.
