Every year the 5th of May is a special day in SCS as this day is celebrated as the Feast Day of Blessed Edmund Rice. This year as well the Junior School boys came together to mark this day in celebration with utmost joy and happiness.
A special assembly was conducted by the students from classes 2 and 3 on the occasion of Founder's Day. With a beautiful prayer for Edmund Rice, the morning session began on a spiritual note. The students dressed up like Blessed Rice presented a beautiful enactment depicting different stages of his life.
There was a heart touching presentation about the values we can learn and imbibe from our Founder, Blessed Edmund Rice. The students carrying colourful placards spoke about how we all can follow the footsteps of our Founder by practising love, compassion, dedication, service, patience, and simplicity in our lives.
The choir presented a melodious song about Blessed Rice which touched the hearts of one and all. The assembly ended with a beautiful quote by Blessed Rice.
Mrs Kaushal, the Headmistress of the Junior Wing addressed the boys on the special occasion and encouraged the students to follow the values learnt from our Founder’s life story. She also emphasized being selfless and compassionate thereby doing all that we can to bring a smile to the faces of others. Miss Grace David was also present for the assembly and taught special actions to the students. Through a simple explanation, she elaborated that Blessed Rice always kept God first, took care of others, and then thought about himself. The assembly was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all.
