Description:
A Fire safety mock drill was conducted in the Middle Section on 25th April 2025. It was assumed that the fire had taken place in the library due to short circuit. The siren was activated at 8.45 AM sharp and the teachers in the classes immediately brought their classes to a halt and facilitated quick evacuation.All the classes assembled on the field,at their designated places,and a head count was taken by the teachers and reported to the DM team.Besides the students and the teachers, the admin staff, all the helpers and the canteen staff also participated in the drill. A First Aid station was set up on the field by the school nurse to provide First Aid in case of any injury.
The teachers,who did not have a teaching period, facilitated the movement as per the evacuation exits determined by the DM Team. The helpers checked the washrooms and made sure that no one was left behind in the building.
Total 1300 students participated in the drill and the response time was around 4 minutes.No injury was sustained by any student and no student was reported missing during the exercise.
After brief feedback by the DM in charge, the students were directed back to their classes. Overall, it was a fruitful exercise that underlined the importance of emergency preparedness and helped strengthen the evacuation protocols for fire emergencies. - ( Manju Singh Rawat - In charge DM Team Middle school )
