Description:

“The Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the Earth.”

In keeping with this spirit, our school celebrated Earth Day 2026 with the theme “Small Steps, Big Impact” on 21st April. The day focused on action over awareness through our school-wide Plastic-Free Challenge, encouraging every student to refuse plastic bags and adopt sustainable habits.

Our young environmentalists of classes 4 and 5 turned waste into wonder. Students brought pre-prepared planters made from used plastic bottles and containers and created vibrant “Green Corners” in their classrooms and on window sills. The activity sparked thoughtful discussions on the 3Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – and how small corners of green can make schools and homes healthier.

Students of classes 6 and 7 designed powerful posters and performed role plays highlighting the impact of plastic pollution and the strength of collective action.

Putting sustainability into practice, Class 8 students crafted sturdy paper bags from old newspapers. These handmade bags were later distributed to local vendors near the school, spreading the message of ‘plastic-free shopping’ beyond campus walls.

Students of classes 9 and 10 penned impactful slogans and created accordion books illustrating the journey from pollution to protection. Their work showcased a deep understanding of environmental responsibility and youth leadership.

An assembly on Earth Day was conducted by the students of class 4. The young eco-champions used their voices, actions, and creativity to remind the school that protecting the Earth begins with the smallest hands.

A plantation drive was also conducted on 22nd April. The initiative aimed to sensitize students about environmental conservation and the critical role of trees in combating climate change and reducing plastic-driven pollution.

Earth Day 2026 reminded us that when each of us takes a small step, together we create a big impact. Together, we are the power our planet needs. 🌍
