Introduction
On 31 October 2026, the Class XII students visited IIT
Delhi along with their physics teacher Mrs Mahima Mehrotra. The visit gave us a
first-hand look at life on a leading technical campus and at the work being
done there.
Inauguration at Dogra Hall
We began by attending the inauguration ceremony at Dogra
Hall. The chief guest was Director General of DRDO. His encouraging speech for
the students set the tone for the day and gave us a sense of the institute's
academic culture and traditions.
Physics Laboratories
In the physics labs, we saw the kind of experimental
setups and equipment used for research and advanced coursework. It was exciting
to see how the concepts we study in class, such as electricity and measurement,
are applied in real instruments.
Chemistry Laboratories
The chemistry labs showed us how experiments are carried
out at a higher level, with specialised apparatus and a strong emphasis on
precision and safety. This connected well with our own practical work in
school.
Art Section
We also visited the art section, which showed that the
campus values creativity alongside science and engineering. It was a refreshing
change from the labs and a reminder of the range of work that goes on there.
Conclusion
The visit was both informative and inspiring. Seeing the
labs and the campus environment gave us a clearer picture of what higher
education in science and technology looks like, and it motivated many of us to
work harder toward our goals.
