Theme: Walking in the Footsteps of Blessed Edmund Rice
The morning assembly, conducted by the students of Class 11 B, began with a warm welcome that emphasized the significance of Blessed Edmund Rice Day. Guided and prepared by Mr. Dennis Joy Stephen, the students delivered a well-structured and inspiring program centered on the life and mission of Blessed Edmund Rice.
The assembly featured a brief yet powerful overview of Edmund Rice’s journey, highlighting his unwavering commitment to education, social justice, and service to the marginalized. Selected students shared personal reflections on how his legacy continues to influence their values and actions today. They spoke passionately about the importance of selfless service, the transformative power of education, and their commitment to upholding these ideals in their lives.
A poignant moment in the assembly came when the students posed the reflective question: “Where is Blessed Edmund Rice now?” The answer that followed resonated deeply with the audience: “He lives on in each one of us—through our compassion, our service, and our pursuit of justice. If we walk in his footsteps, he is with us always.”
Adding a musical dimension to the tribute, the school choir presented a beautifully rendered song that uplifted the spirit of the gathering and added a melodious touch to the celebration.
A special highlight was the presentation of the National Anthem in sign language by the students of the Inclusive Education Society, prepared by Mr. Dennis Mathew. This moving performance powerfully reflected Blessed Edmund Rice’s vision of unity, dignity, and inclusion. It stood as a heartfelt reminder that true education embraces every voice and ability, and that building a just and compassionate world requires ensuring that all are seen, heard, and valued.
The assembly was a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of Blessed Edmund Rice, inspiring the entire school community to continue walking in his footsteps with faith and purpose. - Prepared by: Mr. Dennis Joy Stephen
