The Intra round of the prestigious Science Symposium of the Middle School: SYMSCI was held on the 9th of July 2026, providing a platform for budding scientists to showcase their research, creativity and analytical skills. Centred on the theme,” LIVING BATTERIES: Powering Tomorrow’s Tech with Earth’s Microbes”, the symposium encouraged the participants to explore innovative and sustainable scientific solutions inspired by nature.
19 teams competed for the honour of representing St. Columba’s School at the Middle School’s inter school fest, Mélange. The judging panel consisted of Mr. Merwyn Fernandes, a dedicated Computer Science educator known for his expertise and commitment for nurturing young minds and Mrs. Jyotsna Sarpal an experienced teacher with a distinguished research background in Biology.
The results were as follows :
1st Position – Harsh Priyadarshi - 10C, Advay Pandey - 9E and Naweed Afzal - 10C
2nd Position – Tanish Pratap Singh - 10E, Shourya Sardana - 9B and Sankalp - 10E
3rd Position – Aariv Jude Anthony - 10B, Sankalp Shah - 10B and Solomon Summer Surin - 9A
Overall, the symposium was a celebration of curiosity, collaboration and scientific innovation.
