On
the 5th of May 2026, the JustEd Society of the Senior School conducted a
special assembly to mark Founder’s Day, in honour of Edmund Ignatius
Rice.
The
assembly began with a skit that highlighted the struggles of the
underprivileged, focusing on the importance of education, compassion, and
opportunity.
The
assembly then briefly touched upon the life and work of Edmund Rice, and how
his vision of providing education to the less fortunate still holds relevance
today. Students were reminded that real change comes not just from
understanding these issues, but from taking action.
The
assembly also featured two hymns by the Music Society. It concluded with the
JustEd Society announcing a ration drive, encouraging students to contribute
essential items and take a small step towards helping those in need.
