A Christian Leadership Programme was conducted by St. Columba’s School for the Christian students of Classes VII , VIII ,IX and X on 6th October 2026. The programme was designed to help the young participants understand the essence of Christian identity and the true meaning of leadership in the light of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
The programme began with thought-provoking sessions on “Who is a Christian?” and “What is Leadership?” The students were encouraged to reflect on the fact that being a Christian is not merely about following religious practices, but about living a life rooted in love, faith, compassion, service and the teachings of Jesus.
A particularly inspiring aspect of the programme was the sharing of real-life stories of saints who led ordinary lives while remaining deeply committed to Jesus. Their lives demonstrated that one does not have to give up one's normal responsibilities, interests or hobbies in order to follow Christ. Rather, Christian faith can be expressed through the way one lives, works, treats others and uses one's talents. These stories inspired the young Christians to follow Jesus sincerely and to serve others selflessly while continuing to develop their own God-given abilities and interests.
The programme was further enriched by powerful personal testimonies shared by young leaders. Two of the resource persons were Ex-Columbans, along with other resource persons guided by Ms Grace, who spoke candidly about their experiences and shared how Jesus had transformed their lives. Their testimonies provided the students with relatable examples of faith in action and encouraged them to recognise the presence of Christ in their own lives.
The sessions were conducted in an engaging and joyful manner through prayers to the Holy Spirit, hymns, interactive activities and meaningful discussions. These activities enabled the students to participate actively and reflect on how they could become responsible Christian leaders in their families, schools and communities.
The programme concluded with an insightful quiz, which helped consolidate the students’ learning and reinforced the key messages of the sessions.
Overall, the Christian Leadership Programme was a meaningful and enriching experience for the students of Classes VII to X. It encouraged them to understand that true Christian leadership is not about power or position, but about faith, humility, love, service and the courage to follow Jesus in everyday life. The programme left the young participants inspired to live their faith joyfully, serve others selflessly and become positive examples of Christian leadership in their own spheres of influence.
