Spellathon Quiz – Classes 1 to 3
Date: 6th to 8th May 2025
In line with our continued focus on fostering collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking, a vibrant Spellathon Quiz was conducted for Classes 1 to 3 from 6th to 8th May 2025 in the Junior School. The primary objective was to build students’ confidence, expand their vocabulary, and sharpen their logical reasoning skills while instilling a healthy spirit of competition and teamwork.
Each section was divided into five teams, ensuring enthusiastic participation from every student. The event was skilfully hosted by the Junior School Coordinators, Mrs. Anjali Sharma and Mrs. Rashmi Sehgal, who took on the role of engaging Quizmasters.
The quiz for Class 1 included five exciting rounds—Missing Letter, Riddles, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Correct Spelling. Classes 2 and 3 faced a broader array of rounds, such as Spell the Words, Jumbled Spellings, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Around the World, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and questions related to our Founder, Blessed Edmund Rice. The rounds were designed to challenge their critical thinking and encourage quick, creative responses.
Adding to the fun was a surprise audience round, where students and teachers were delighted by clever riddles and questions on logical reasoning. The quiz sessions were high-energy, with students displaying excellent team coordination, a growing command of language, and general awareness.
The event concluded on a high-spirited note as our respected Principal, Br. Robert and Br. Agnelo commended the young participants for their efforts and encouraged them with their words of wisdom. They also thoroughly enjoyed being part of the quiz, especially when the Quizmasters posed some fun riddles and questions to them. Our Junior Wing Headmistress, Mrs. Kaushal, appreciated and applauded the students and motivated them to continue learning with enthusiasm.
The Spellathon Quiz proved to be an enriching experience that not only boosted vocabulary and spelling skills but also nurtured confidence, curiosity, and the joy of learning in every student.
