CRYPTIX
– Senior School Technology & Cybersecurity Society conducted a special
Cybersecurity Week session to raise awareness about the growing challenges of
navigating the modern internet safely. The session focused on fake online
identities, AI-generated content, digital privacy, and practical cybersecurity
techniques, encouraging students to become more informed and responsible
digital citizens.
Through
engaging demonstrations and interactive discussions, students learnt how fake
accounts are created, how artificial intelligence can generate realistic human
faces and identities, and how freely available online tools can be used to
verify suspicious profiles. The presenters also demonstrated the role of image
metadata (EXIF data) in authenticating digital content and highlighted the
importance of protecting one's personal information online.
The
programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session,
reinforcing the importance of critical thinking, digital awareness, and ethical
use of technology. The CRYPTIX society was declared open and accepting all
interested students, by the president. The initiative reflected CRYPTIX's
commitment to fostering curiosity, cybersecurity awareness, and responsible
digital citizenship among students.
