The
school conducted a Study Skills Workshop for students of Classes IV
to IX, from 9th - 10th February, with the aim of helping them understand
stress, improve focus, and develop healthier study habits during the exams. The
sessions were led by Mr. Avi Vatsa, associated with the Mental Health
Foundation, who connected very well with the students through an
interactive and relatable approach.
During
the sessions, Mr. Vatsa explained the concept of the mind and introduced
students to the idea of two types of mental functioning—the analytical mind and
the reactive mind. He emphasized the importance of training the brain to pause
and think rather than react impulsively, especially during exams, challenging
situations or moments of frustration. Practical exercises from the book Self
Analysis were introduced and practiced, enabling students to experience
simple techniques for improving awareness, emotional regulation, and
concentration.
The
students responded enthusiastically and showed keen interest throughout the
workshop. They were curious to learn techniques that could help them focus
better while studying and manage exam-related anxiety. Overall, the sessions
were insightful and meaningful, helping students gain a better understanding of
their thoughts, emotions, and responses. The workshop proved to be a valuable
initiative in supporting students’ mental well-being and academic readiness.
