awareness initiation & School -wide pledge against Tobacco/ drug free
Environment on 12th May 2026 .*
The
Teens Against Tobacco / Drugs Society / PRAHARI Club of St. Columba’s
School conducted a special morning assembly today to spread awareness regarding
the PRAHARI Anti-Drug Club guidelines issued by the Directorate of Education,
GNCT Delhi. The PRAHARI Club, which was formed last year, has been actively
working towards creating awareness about substance abuse and promoting a safe,
healthy, and responsible school environment. Students and teachers
enthusiastically participated in the assembly, which aimed to sensitise the
school community about the growing dangers of substance abuse and the
collective responsibility of fostering a drug-free campus.
Through
speeches, awareness messages, and student presentations, the assembly
highlighted the core objectives of the PRAHARI initiative — promoting
vigilance, peer support, responsible decision-making, and early intervention
against substance abuse. Students were also informed about the harmful
physical, emotional, social, and legal consequences of drug consumption, while
being encouraged to resist peer pressure and unhealthy influences.
Information
regarding the MANAS and YUVA helplines was also shared, reinforcing the
importance of awareness, empathy, and accessible support systems in building a
safer educational ecosystem.
In
the end A pledge was taken together by students and teachers to make the
school environment tobacco-free is a formal, collective commitment to create a
healthy, safe, and addiction-free learning space.
