Description: The PRS Student Parliament was hosted on the 8th of July, 2025, for classes 9- 12. A total of 65 students attended the training. The event simulated a live session of the Indian Parliament, giving students the opportunity to engage with real legislative procedures, debate public policy, and represent diverse ministerial portfolios. Organized in collaboration with the PRS Legislative Research team, the simulation focused on critical national issues such as health, justice, education, aviation, sports, and digital labour rights. Each student took on the role of a Union Minister and also represented a Ministry, responding and asking questions during Question Hour, debating a real pending Bill "the Platform-Based Gig Workers (Security and Welfare) Bill, 2024", and proposing amendments in stakeholder capacity. The proceedings strictly followed Rules of Procedure, including notices, speeches, supplementary questions, points of information, and structured floor debates. Ministers defended policy shortcomings, stakeholders demanded reform. Topics ranged from rising medicine prices and the Ayushman Bharat scheme, to academic migration, green hydrogen targets, and sport scandals. Notably, participants displayed a deep understanding of governance, policy loopholes, and lived realities. With speeches blending emotion, logic, and legislative strategy. The event was more than a mock parliament. It was a practical lesson in democracy, dissent, and dialogue.
