Description:
The Debating Society of the Senior School organised the Annual Inter-Class Debate Competition for Class XII from 22nd April – 29th April 2024. The engaging event showcased the intellectual prowess of students from 12 A to F, as they battled wits on a variety of thought-provoking topics, addressing current events and pertinent social issues. The esteemed panel of judges, comprising twelve distinguished individuals from various fields, including academia from prestigious institutions and leaders in marketing and advertising, meticulously evaluated the eloquence and substance of the arguments presented.
The competition unfolded in a series of rounds, commencing with the Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Semi-Finals, and culminating in the Final Round. The teams that earned their place in the Final Round were 12 A and 12 E. The coveted position for the Best Team was clinched by 12 E who argued in favour of the motion ‘Consumerism is the new avatar of Colonialism’.
The Annual Inter-Class Debate Competition not only served as a platform for intellectual discourse but also exemplified the dedication and talent of the participants, reaffirming the Debating Society's commitment to fostering critical thinking and communication skills among students.
