Description:
“Krishna’s Eternal Odyssey – A Musical” – the annual presentation of Class 1, was held on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024. The morning air was filled with the enchanting sound of the flute reverberating through the walls of the Junior Wing Hall. The stage was set, and the foyer was transformed into a vibrant village scene, as the boys dressed in bright costumes prepared for their big performance.
Our Principal, Br. Robert, Mr. Chopra, Mrs. Pal, and the judges arrived in the hall, accompanied by the Headmistress of the Junior Wing, Mrs. Kaushal. The show commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, as we sought the blessings of our founder, Edmund Rice, who once said, "The will of God be done in this and everything we undertake."
The young performers took the audience through the key chapters of Lord Krishna’s life, with each episode introduced by narrators. The musical extravaganza showcased Krishna's birth in jail, his childhood adventures in Vrindavan, and his playful childhood. Spellbinding dance performances depicted his heroic acts, such as defeating the deadly Kalia Nag to free the Yamuna River and protecting the people of Vrindavan. The musical journey progressed through Kansa’s defeat, finally depicting Krishna’s pivotal role in the Mahabharata, where he stood for justice and righteousness and delivered the epic teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
In his concluding address, Br. Robert highlighted the timeless values of peace and justice. He reminded the audience that each of us carries within us a divine spark and encouraged everyone to uphold righteousness, just as Krishna did.
He further applauded the tremendous efforts of the students and teachers in delivering such an engaging performance.
Following his address, Junior School Headmistress Mrs. Kaushal presented a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing deep gratitude to the staff, students, and parents for their collective efforts in making the event a resounding success. She also extended her appreciation to the judges and guests for their gracious presence.
The event was indeed a resounding success, leaving everyone inspired and appreciative of the hard work and dedication behind the show.
