Description:
The Debating Society of the Senior School organised the Annual Inter-Class Debate Competition for Class XI from 15th July – 23rd July 2024. The engaging event showcased the intellectual prowess of students from 11 A to F, as they battled wits on a variety of thought-provoking topics, addressing current events and pertinent social issues. The esteemed panel of judges, comprising twelve distinguished individuals from various fields, meticulously evaluated the eloquence and substance of the arguments presented.
The competition unfolded in a series of rounds, commencing with the Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Semi-Finals, and culminating in the Final Round. The teams that earned their place in the Final Round were 11 C and 11 D. The coveted position for the Best Team was clinched by 11 D who argued in favour of the motion: ‘Developed nations should not be allowed to interfere with the economies of the developing nations.’
The Annual Inter-Class Debate Competition not only served as a platform for intellectual discourse but also exemplified the dedication and talent of the participants, reaffirming the Debating Society's commitment to fostering critical thinking and communication skills among students.
